Print Labels

You can print labels for items that you dispense to a patient, such as medicine, food, and supply labels. You can also use labels to print client and patient information in a compact format. You can print labels from these pages:

  • Patient page

  • Consultation page

  • Consultation invoice page

  • Counter sale page

  • Laboratory referral page

This article describes how to print and edit labels and how to change the number of labels.

Note: The new consultation page is being released during 2026. You can switch between versions at any time from the top of the consultation page. This article covers how to print labels in both.

Medicine, Food, and Supply Labels

Medicine, food, and supply labels are mainly used to print instructions for dispensed items. You can print these labels from a consultation page when you add or edit an item, including planned medicines. You can also print them from a consultation invoice page when the usage type of the item is 'dispensed', or from a counter sale page when a client is selected for the invoice.

Print Medicine, Food, and Supply Labels from a Consultation Page

1. Select the Label Printing Options When You Add an Item

In the item dialog, select the label printer in the Print label drop-down list, and enter the number of labels in the Label quantity field.

One-Click Printing

When one-click printing is in use in Vetera, select Save (with a check mark) to save the item and print the labels with one click.

Save and Preview

When one-click printing is not in use, select Save (without a check mark) to save the item and preview the labels.

Save and Print

When you add a new item, you can also select Save and print label to go directly to editing and printing the labels. To edit and print the labels of a saved item, open the item for editing and select Save and print label.

On the new consultation page, you can also print the labels of a saved item from the Treatment items section. Select the printer button on the item row. The Print label dialog opens.

2. Edit and Print the Labels

  1. In the Print label dialog, the Device and Amount of labels fields show the selections that you made when you added the item. You can still change the selections.

  2. If the item type has a label template, the Header, Body, and Footer fields show the template text. You can edit the text in these fields. The label preview on the right updates when you make changes.

Print Medicine, Food, and Supply Labels from a Consultation Invoice Page

You can print a label from a consultation invoice page if the usage type of the item is 'dispensed'.

To edit and print the labels, select the printer button at the end of the item row.

Print Medicine, Food, and Supply Labels from a Counter Sale Page

When you add an item on a counter sale page, you can print the labels, if one-click printing is in use, or save and preview the labels in the item dialog. This works in the same way as on a consultation page.

If one-click printing is not in use, or if you saved an item without printing the labels:

  1. Select the printer button at the end of the saved item row. The Edit label dialog opens.

  2. In the dialog, you can add more instructions to the label. The instructions show on the label only if the label template has a placeholder for instructions. Select Save, whether you add instructions or not.

Client and Patient Labels

Client and patient labels are useful for printing client and patient information in a compact format. You can print these labels from a patient page or from a consultation page. You can also print patient labels during check-in.

  1. Open the A4 label sheet dialog:

    • Patient page: select Actions > Print A4 label sheet.

    • Check-in: select Tools > Print A4 label sheet.
