Super Search

Select Search at the top of the left side-panel to open the search panel, or press Alt+S (Option+S on Mac). Search is available on every page. For other keyboard shortcuts, see Command Menu and Keyboard Shortcuts.

Filters

When you open the search panel, filters appear at the top. Type your search text in the field and select the filter you want to use.

  • All — searches clients, patients, items and bundles. Results are grouped by type, with client and patient results in one section and item results in another.

  • Clients & Patients — finds clients by first name, last name, full name, email address, ID number, phone number, or organization name, and patients by name or patient ID.

  • Items & Bundles — finds items and bundles by name. Bundles that are only used as sub-bundles inside another bundle are not included.

  • Clinic location — depending on your organization's settings, select All clinic locations or your current clinic location. If clinic location groups are in use, you can also select a clinic location group.

  • Include in results — select Archived clients or Deceased patients to include them in the results.

A client or patient you have just created or edited may not appear in the results immediately. Search uses a search index, which updates shortly after the change.

Use Sort by above the results to sort clients and patients by relevance, first name or last name. Item results are not sorted this way.

Note: The search results limit is 50. If your search returns more results, not all results are shown. A client and the patients listed under it count as one result. Try refining your search, or use the client and patient search.

How Search Matches Your Text

You do not need to type the whole name. A few letters from anywhere in the name are enough.

Search also finds close matches, so a name with a small typo, such as one wrong letter, still finds the right result. Check the name before you open a result, because a close match may be a different client or patient.

When you search by phone number, you do not need to type the country code, such as +45.

When you search by ID number, you can type it with or without the hyphen.

Search Results

Searching for a client returns the whole household, with the client's patients listed under the client. Searching for a patient returns the matched patient together with its owner and the owner's other patients.

Recent Views

When you open the search panel without typing anything, the Recent views section lists the pages you have opened recently, so you can go back to them directly. Recent views include client pages, patient pages, consultations, invoice pages, treatment estimates, laboratory referrals, and diagnostic imaging referrals.

Note: Recent views are not available for administrator users.
