Deleting a consultation may be necessary, for example, if a consultation has been started by mistake. By deleting the consultation, you can make sure that your records are correct and return any items into stock counts. You can delete consultations if you have the required permissions.
Note: The new consultation page is being released during September 2026. You can switch between versions at any time from the top of the consultation page.
Before You Delete a Consultation
If there are treatment items on the consultation, you must delete all items first. A consultation that includes items cannot be deleted. On the old consultation page, select Tools > Delete consultation items, select Select all and then Delete, and in the confirmation dialog select Delete.
On the new consultation page, delete the items one by one: in the Treatment items section, select the X button next to each item name. Deleting all items at once is not yet available there.
If the consultation invoice has already been finalized, you must credit the invoice instead, as it cannot be deleted. For instructions, see Overview of Credit Notes.
If you do not want to delete a consultation, but a patient has been checked in by mistake, you can cancel the check-in. In this case, the consultation returns to the draft state.
Delete a Consultation
Open the delete option for the consultation:
New consultation page: in the top-right corner of the consultation page, select the three-dot button, then select Delete consultation.
Old consultation page: select Tools > Delete consultation.
The Delete consultation dialog lists what is removed with the consultation, including the invoice. Select Delete.
After Deleting a Consultation
If the consultation was started from a scheduled appointment, the appointment is returned to the 'upcoming' status.
