Create Your Own Custom View Mode

Depending on the clinic location settings, you may be able to customize the consultation page layout by creating your own custom view mode to ensure that the most relevant information is easily accessible. The custom mode view is only visible to you.

  1. Go to the Dashboard. Under Recent consultations, select the stethoscope button at the end of the row to open the consultation page.

  2. Open the Update own mode dialog:

    • On the old consultation page, select the cogwheel button to the right of the view selector, then select Edit custom view mode.

    • On the new consultation page, select the sliders button to the right of the view drop-down list.

  3. Set which sections are shown. The dialog differs between the two consultation pages:

    • On the old consultation page, select Open, Closed, or Hidden for each section. The dialog lists Appointments, Consultation details, Clinical notes, Diagnostics, Diagnosis, Vitals, Patient referrals, Clinical signs, Treatment items, Feedback for referring veterinarian, Discharge instructions, Planned future actions and Treatment overview.

    • On the new consultation page, set the Visible toggle for each section to show or hide it. The dialog lists Overview, Clinical notes, Patient referrals, Treatment items, Vitals, Diagnoses, Diagnostics, Patient discharge and Next steps. Diagnostics covers laboratory and diagnostic imaging, and Patient discharge is the discharge instructions section.

  4. On the new consultation page, drag the sections by their handles to change the order they appear in on the consultation page.

  5. Optionally, select Use own mode as the default mode to set own mode as the default mode when you open the consultation page.

  6. Select Save to save your own custom mode.

  7. After you save:

    • On the old consultation page, refresh the consultation page. Your own mode is now available in the view selector.

    • On the new consultation page, the page changes to Custom view. Only the sections you turned on are shown.

Your own view mode only changes which sections are shown. It does not change the filters or columns inside a section, such as Type and Staff user in clinical notes or Columns in treatment items. For more about the new consultation page, see Overview of the New Consultation Workflow.

Note: On the old consultation page, you can also show or hide sections quickly from the cogwheel button to the right of the view selector, without opening the dialog. These quick changes apply only until you reload the page. To keep a change, open Update own mode again and save it.
