Vetera's navigation and design are being updated in stages, giving pages more room and one-click access to things like Tasks and Notifications. Some pages look different, and some things have moved to new places.
Vetera's navigation has two parts: a side-panel on the left, and a side-panel on the right. Some items that were previously in the left side-panel — Notifications and Tasks — are now in the right side-panel instead. This article explains what each part does, what moved, and where to find things.
Left Side-Panel
This section describes the new navigation menus — the left side-panel and the right side-panel — and how to find things like Reporting and the clinic location switcher.
The left side-panel has two areas. At the top, direct links open with a single select:
Below a divider, the Workspace area groups related items. Select a group name to expand it:
You can collapse the left side-panel to a compact icon view. Hover over the right edge of the panel until a resize icon appears, then select it. When collapsed, hover over an icon to see its label, keyboard shortcut, and any unread count. Select the resize icon again to expand the panel. |
What's Changed
Conversations has its own dedicated page at the top of the left side-panel (if available for your organization), replacing the previous My Communications page.
Your account menu has moved to the bottom of the left side-panel, showing your full name and avatar.
Notifications and Tasks are no longer in this menu. They are now in the right side-panel.
Right Side-Panel
|
| A right side-panel is available on every page, with icons for Notifications and Tasks. A red dot appears on an icon when you have a new notification or task. Select the Notifications or Tasks icon to open the panel. At the top of the panel, select the See all notifications or See all tasks icon to open the full view.
Currently, Notifications and Tasks are the only icons in the right side-panel on every page in Vetera, except the consultation page.
On the consultation page, icons open additional panels for Notifications, Tasks, Communication and Notes, Patient History, Financial Info, and Integrations, making navigation easier. Future updates will add more icons that vary by page, but Notifications and Tasks are always available. |
Reporting
Reporting groups Reports and Ask Vetera together. Select Reporting in the left side-panel, then select Reports for your financial and operational reports, or Ask Vetera to ask questions about your clinic's data in plain language.
For more information, see Overview of Ask Vetera.
Clinic Location Switcher
The clinic location switcher at the top of the left side-panel now shows all your clinic locations in a single searchable list.
Settings has moved. Select the clinic name button in the top-left corner of the left side-panel to open the clinic location switcher, then select Settings from the list. This works whether your organization has one clinic location or several.
Design Updates
Some pages, not just navigation, also have a new look: the calendar, the consultation page, and text templates.
Calendar
The appointment calendar has an updated look: updated colors, calendar preview icons that let you select quickly between days, the current day emphasized more clearly in day, week, and month views, and filters restyled with a select-all option and collapsible groups.
Consultation Page
The consultation page has a new design, being released during September 2026. On the consultation page, icons in the right side-panel open additional panels for Notifications, Tasks, Communication and Notes, Patient History, Financial Info, and Integrations.
Most consultations open in the new design directly. Multi-patient and farm consultations still open in the old design. You can switch between the old and new designs at any time by selecting Return to old version or Return to new version at the top of the consultation page.
For more information, see Overview of the New Consultation Workflow.
Text Templates
The page where you create and manage text templates (Settings > List & Templates > Text Templates > Add) has a new look. For more information, see Create and Manage Text Templates.
